oil paints

ive seen one or two really nicely done minis painted with oils and im tempted to try it..
it doesnt seem like a common thing to so but i can see why they could be useful to use. oils dry so slowly they would be fantastic to blend and will stick to nearly anything and potentially liquin could be used as both something to thin the paint and also to speed up drying times.

has anyone tried oils and if so are there any advantages/disadvantages?
anyone got any tips or is it one of those things where you just have to experiment and find out yourself?

Water Soluble Oils paints are very handy. They have the unaltered drying charicteristics of Plain oil paints, but you can use a hair dryer to speed up drying time to a similar period as Acrylics, when thinned with water.

Negative side, taste flaming awful so DON\'T Brush Lick! Plus you need to make sure that you keep separate brushes.

Remember Oils can go over Acrylics, but not the otherway around as there is too much varyation in drying.
