Nyss Sorceress

I offer my latest work for discussion - the Nyss Sorceress from Privateer Press Iron Kingdoms range. This is a miniature I wanted to paint for a long time. Unfortunately she was always sold out when I wanted to buy her :( Recently a friend asked me to paint the mini for him and naturally I jumped a the chance. Again I want for a rather limited pallette of reds and blues mainly with lots of purple glazes to set the mood and unify the colors.

I think it\'s excellent, and one of my fav\'s of the wyrd fantasy category. The colour is really nice and the blending is smooth. What impresses me the most is that you managed to give the hair so brigh highlights and still make it look black! The base is another highpoint, it looks splendid!

My critique is that the overhead lighting is too weak further down on the mini, while it\'s very bright on top. Many do like that of course but more subtle... now it feels, especially on the backside that the lightsource get\'s lost in the red to blue transition. The red is not as wellpainted as the blue as well unfortunately.

But still a great model!!

great example of using a red/blue palate with purple shading to really make the mini conherent. Nice work, one of my favorite in it\'s category of FFII as well!

It was one of the entries that caught my attention. Its a nice dark style which I like pretty much. Apart from abit too much oxidation on the scabbard I have no other nitpicks. Good job.
