Hi, I'm new to this forum :)

Why use NMM when you can use metallic paint?

Whats the benefit of using each one?

NMM tend to take much better photos when done right. Other wise in my opinion they tend to look a little off at times when you can not set the perspective it's viewed at. I like metallics and then NMM for flat 2d surfaces like banners and free hand details on things.

Hi, welcome to CMON. First off, general forum tip: search is your friend! Many forums feature an advanced search (ours is here) that can allow you to search within posts or just within titles, for posts by specific members, inside specific forums only and for older or more recent threads, to help refine the returns. It's always a good idea to try a search first.

How to do metallics 'best' is a perennial favourite and there are more than a few previous threads. Here's two on pretty much the same topic:
nmm or metallics
nmm or metallics?!?!?!?!? please help me!
(it's also mentioned within other threads).

Better metallics! Better than NMM! Maybe!

The simplest answer to the question, Why use NMM when you can use metallic paint? is because you want to. And the answer to the opposite question, Why use metallics when you can use NMM? is the same.

And that right there is the best answer to every single why and why not question there is out there. :)

I personally like metallics in a NMM style: the constrast of NMM but metallic shineyness of metallics.

Yeah, that! Actually, I like both, but I tend to keep trying NMM, just to see if I've gotten better at it than the last time I tried. The answer is invariably no, but it doesn't keep me from dreaming.

Simple, isn't it? Although, I do NMM out of laziness because i dont want to fetch water for my metallics water container...

i started practising nmm and metallics because of two things
1, it looked cool to me
2, the skill aspect to it was beyond me and there for impressed me.

so these were my drivers for learning both, and in different ways and i don't favour one over the other.

Tommie:)
