I\'m encouraging one of my friends to paint, and I told her to try this website for ideas. I did warn her that she shouldn\'t compare her work to the stuff here...especially the 8-10s.

Anyway, I thought it might be nice to see people\'s earlier work so we can see how painter\'s talents can progress.

If you get your friend to post WIP pics as well as finished results she will find that she will get lots of advice and tips and encouragement.

engaging in this site, in my opinion, can be about the best way to increase painting skills. There are so many ideas here , it\'s a way to challenge yourself to constantly improve. I was amazed by the results and I made a post about it.

Keep in mind I had been painting 5 years before doing the first one. In my opinion this site is 95% about improving skill, and 5% about showcasing, So get your friend here, and just tell her not to worry about the level of skill she is at, and focus on how she can use this place to improve. That\'s what it\'s all about!
