Despite being full of ill, I've been beavering away at the new VC models.

Rather than post all the pics here, I've got a page on my blog that has them all - http://www.project-666.com/?p=353

Some are almost done, but there's a way to go with others, so throw feedback my way.

Here's the Mortis Engine so far to wet your appetite. :)

Can you describe your "underpainting" method? I do not know if I am understanding it correctly. Looks great though.

Looks lovely. If im honest though, im not keen on these new "Super sized" usnits that GW are churning out. Each army now to seem to have one. The only one I do like is the Forest Goblin Giant Spider.

Great work though

philheckler - yup, it's actually suprisingly stable. No wobble at all.

MightyChad - it could also be called zenithal lighting. I apply lighter and lighter shades with my airbrush, spraying each progressively lighter mix from a steeper angle and eventually only picking out the top-most areas. If controled glazes are put over it the light and shade shows through and does a good bit of work for you. Helps me out with knowing exactly where I should focus highlights and shading too.

Drunken Elf - I've really enjoyed them all actually. I like the super sized stuff from a painting point of view, particularly as an airbrush user. They are a lot of fun to paint and a welcome change of pace from 28mm rank and file or characters. The Araknarok Spider was probably my least favourite out of the lot, but I think that's partly because I was still getting the hang of airbrushing when I did it.

Think you need to vary the colours more as it all flows together making it dificult sorting out all the bits on it.
