New to WFB, deciding on what army, Ogres or WoC

Hi guys, im new to the forums here on CMON and im also new to WFB.
Ive never played WFB before as i only really play 40k, and so i don't really know what army i want to start in WFB.
I am torn between doing a Warriors of Chaos army, or going all in and converting up and painting a Chaos Ogre Kingdoms army, just using the Ogre Kingdoms book.

I wondered if either army would be relatively easy for me to learn WFB with and which you guys think i should choose.

If you were starting out a year or so ago, ogres would be a great army to start with. Everything was pretty powerful and there plenty of good builds. Now a days with the other 8th armies, Ogres are not particularly good IMO. They are strong but you need to follow a few power builds to do anything. Unfortunately that wins you few friends as they are pretty disgusting. WoC can be equally if not far more dirty and beardy, but they can also be fun. I'd suggest warriors. You can build many different lists and they will all be pretty good. They suffer hard when fighting elves though. Always strikes first sucks for WoC. The models for both armies are great. Ogres are low model count so you can spend more time painting them. Chaos can be pretty low model count too. I've seen some armies with only 10 or so models

Warriors are pretty simple to learn warhammer with. They are great in combat, have a good selection of models to learn things like re-direction, frenzy baiting etc.. and are strong in the magic phase. The only thing they lack is shooting other than the hell cannon.

Ogres are simple, they have good shooting and good combat. Magic can be strong if you use death magic and they are fast and maneuverable. However their low weapon skill, model count and initiative means that they dont last long in protracted combat so it takes a bit of skill to set up victory.

Thanks for the advice , im swaying towards Warriors ill be honest gaming wise, its painting and converting that keeps dragging me towards Ogres xD

Both can be great armies...if you're interested I have a thundertusk I need to part with (pm me)
I don't know if you and your gaming group are going to stick with 8th but you may want to read up on any rumours concerning 9th edition. I've heard that the End Times is going to play merry havoc with the whole WFB world. One rumour is that ogres will merge with the empire...but it's just rumours.
