New Project Ideas

So, I'd like some help.

I have a few items that need painting up, but not sure which or what to do and whilst I'm recovering from the operation I've just had, thought it was a great idea to start brainstorming.

∆ - New Skaven from the Island of Blood
∆ - 2010 Gamesday Model

I also am working on a commission of Savage Orcs for someone, with zebra fur. Can anyone help with tips on this?

Hope you're all keeping well and can't wait to hear from you all again :jump:

Will keep me from boredom and my random hanging out with sheep days...

personally, i would start up small. go for the gd fella, it's a bit a mad model so you can go crazy.

zebra stripes should be easy enough. just paint them white with black stripes -it's probably easier that way

Maybe easier to use a swatch as referance. Like zis! => http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...a=X&ei=4hi-TPT8JsGqlAfC9JDhBw&ved=0CCgQ9QEwAQ

Man that's a big ass link...Hope it works. I meant to get back sooner, but I spent too long looking at it and went blind for a while. Nice jearb on that Predator, Cassar! Must have taken ages.

ED; It worked! Never noticed that college girl thing under it... Must not be tempted to find out girly secrets, must remember what happened last time, still not clean...

Just free handing it black on white should be pretty easy =)

Doing the black stripes over the white is the way to go I reckon. I've enjoyed doing tiger stripes before, more often than makes sense, and it works nicely doing the business blending orange to white fur then slapping the stripes on top. Bound to work the same for zebra skin, shading the white to your satisfaction then just wiggling the black stripes on.
One thing I found useful in doing the stripes, is not to paint them cleanly as one would an articifcial stripes. Instead, forming the stripe with a series of short strokes. If the stripe runs horizontal, do a series of short vertical strokes to create it, it looks more naturalistic. Dunno if that'd work on zebra skin, not being as long as tiger fur, that broken edge thing might not evoke the right effect. Worth trying on a spare shield or something though eh.

All those skaven and others, thassa lotta mold lines to scrape away. Hope you find that calming rather than irritating during your recovery.
