I've just opened the box so can anyone tell me on page 13 of the rules in the example why Doug fires a second burst scoreS three hits, kills the last walker but his remaining two hits don't kill the fatty. On the previous page it's says two hits takes down a fatty. I'm sure this is going to be a no brainer when explained.

They take one hit but one that does 2 damage. A more powerful hit than those that do damage 1. Hits don't add up, so two weak damage1 results don't equate to a damage2 effect.

You'll see on the weapon cards the last entry is the amount of damage each weapon does. A Shotgun would blast a fatty away as it does Damage2.

You might feel an itch to add up lower damage results into fewer powerful results. This should be resisted. That variety of damage output in the weapons, and fatties soaking up damage is a really rather important thing in providing variety. Would be a nightmare to track how many wounds any given zombie has too.
Abominations are even more severe. They require a damage3 hit, or the old molotov cocktail.

No worries. There's a good few times my lot realised we were doing things wrong. The biggest help was playing the game, it gave context upon re-reading the rules.

This is so true. Our group does something wrong every game. Just say oops and do it right in the next game.

Good luck Ripstitch, it is a fun game even if some of the rules are unrealistic.

Thanks again guys, so right once you play it becomes clear. Can't stop playing. One game finishes set up and go again. Great fun
