Hey everyone, the team behind FigureMentors, along with a bunch of talented artists, have been hard at work putting together a new figure magazine focused on historical subjects: The Illustrated Historical Artists. We made the decision to offer the first issue for free because we want as many people as possible to be able to see the design, writing, overall quality, and the amount of work that has gone into producing this publication. We aim to keep the price for future issues reasonable, but this way you will beforehand what sort of product you will receive for your money. We intend on producing a new issue every other month. Despite the focus on historical figures, so many of the techniques covered in the articles can be applied to other subjects that I feel even fantasy and sci-fi painters will find plenty of useful information here too.
This first issue has contributions from Marion Ball, Matt Wellhouser, Maria Alberta Iaia, Sergey Popovichenko, myself, Ben Curry, and Paul Homer.
