New LOTR Minis

Here me now and believe me later... these minis I speak of are probably not gonna bet out, but I want them anyways!! After watching the movie for the first time on vacation (new digital theatre no less!) I instantly wanted the following minis: First and foremost, a a flying Nazgul. I just hope every movie will have a big o\'l mini like the Balrog. Next, dark men of Mordor troops.. I dunno, they looked kinda like the new Dark Elves to me... could be all those spike flange thingies.. Near the bottom of the list, a Gollum mini, as I know he plays an important part in the movie and the books, and I\'m always looking for a mini to try different sickly looking skintones on. And An olephant.. this is last simply because it would probably be a $150 Forgeworld cast. Apart from that, I would also like better (nonplatic) versions of the Uruk Hai Berserkers and Wargs, simply because they seem too small in comparison to other minis. I came this close to buying the painting set while at my Grandma\'s house, but then realised I needed primer, and x-acto and glue.. Oh, well..... :p

New Mini\'s

Oh Yes! Saw the movie and yes I want a flying nazgul & Gollum But I\'ll bet they hold it off the Nazgul until the last movie for a confrontation set between Thoden, Aowyn, Merry and the Nazgul King.

Many, many, many years ago GW did have a winged Nazgul which looked like a Pterodactyl. Treebeard will be a very difficult mini but I\'m waiting for that to see whether I\'ll get one. I\'m also looking forward to the Shelob mini as well. As to the oliphants--Four tusks and the size of those things...eeek!

The box set of the Warg attack is metal and I had the pleasure of painting a set up for my local GW store. Had they not been pre-primed by someone at the store I\'d have enjoyed painting them more.

There have been hints about Peter Jackson having created an increased physical presence for Sauron by the end of the Third movie, but I\'m not going to hold my breath on that one.

But before you have a go at GW all the release dates for the figures are under contract with New Line Cinema as they hold the copyright to the miniatures, not Citadel/GW.

Roll on December 2003.

Doh!

I finally got me White Dwarf today and Gollum\'s in a set with the two Hobbitses.. and the Berserkers are in seperate metal.. Treebeard does look daunting to have to paint all his wood, vines and moss and then have to paint Merry and Pippin. But where\'s the Nazgul?!! We does not likeses.. No... (Gollum, Gollum) :p

LOTR Figures

After watching the two towers ( two times ) i am totally influenced by this film. During the movie i decieded to realise some of the characters of this film in mini, but everything on the market is not what i was looking for ( GW and Mithril ). So i decieded to convert this figures in 54mm using historical minis as base. I still have some problems with the elves ( Legolas and Haldir ) because i want to make them like we all know it from the film. But we will see if i am able to finish this project ever, the decission if they are good or not is up to you all. By the way , does anybody out there know a usefull figure ( 54mm or 90mm ) wich can be used to convert this elfes? If yes please let me know because here in europe there is nothing on the market yet. Even if you want to sell it privat i am ready to pay a good price for it.

happy new year and best regards
fredy
