new grey knights

if any one has gotten the email or checked out the GW site you will see the new grey knight models. all else aside what are the thoughts on there new dreadknight. personally i find it looks a bit gawky and with the exposed driver i find it almost ridiculous

Oh we all saw the picture in the General Discussions board. It's...well...

It is gawky, but consider that everything in the Space Marines looks gawky. Dreadnoughts? Land Raiders? The freaking Space Marines? Everything is gawky and awkward. So I give kudos to GW for being consistent. The exposed driver is indeed ridiculous. And stupid. And going to be obnoxious to assemble and paint.

Then again, I hate marines.

First thought I had was ... coooool. Looks kinda like a cross between a marine dreadnought and the walkers in "Matrix revolutions". Looking closer the idea of an exposed pilot did strike me as being a bit on the odd side. Hell, after years of being exposed to the elements even the pilots of Eldar warwalkers got a little canopy to keep them a bit safer

Further thought echos Ids with regards to painting it. Probably going to be quite awkward and having to be done in several pieces before a final assembly.

ya the painting will be terrible lol but the driver i dont thnk is sealed in just placed in. what it struck me as was a DH pentient engine. just way better lol. but honestly why they couldnt put a little canopy there is beyond me. it should have the HEADSHOT weakness wear snipers ignore its armour since, hey, theres a nice juicy melon sitting right there. lol just makin crap up

i like that the knights plastics are similar to the metals, so my GK army will still be able to sell when i get rid of it. the dread is goofy-stupid.

The dude is protected by a force field barrier, which GW is going to sell separately for $9.99 "While supplies last" (**sarcasm**) HAHA!

lol ya they didnt really change the reg models. im hoping to see a sisters codex coming out soon. itll be crazy if they are all anti physker again. the only army able to beat DH lol

Love the look of the new models. Still about as much a drag to paint as regular marines, though. The exposed pilot on the Knight doesn't bother me in the slightest. Why? He's wearing frickin' terminator armor! The guy's about as bulletproof as the rest of the walker!
