For the first time in a long time I am feeling excited with what I've seen over the past few months. These new DE models have real personality. They certainly put the right guys on the design team. The new Pain Engine is epic with loads of potential.

i love how the new talos/pain engine is plastic so if u put magnets in you could easily switch them between either one. love plastic kits anyway lol

I'm not crazy about the new price increases I've been seeing on some models, but I'm definitely glad GW is finally revamping their mini lines. Especially the DE. Like Skullz said, they feel like they have personality now. I'm looking forward to picking up a Lilith to paint sometime this summer.

The Scourges are much better than the old ones, the Venom doesn't scream DE to me it is basically a Vyper with some Dark Eldar hanging off it but the the Talos/ Pain Engine is awesome already pre ordered it and am really looking forward to painting it up.

I think the cool thing about GW is that across the boards, over the years, their quality has consistently improved. Never mind the price hikes, or the pushy sales force, or any other issue we all may have with them. I hope we can all agree that they have been putting out better and better models.

Oh, and I really dig the new Dark Eldar. I was working at GW when the first wave came out. I had no plans on collecting them but after working on the store models and getting familiar with the new codex I got sucked in. One of the aspects I like about the Dark Eldar is that they are made up of Cabals. Each Cabal can have it's own unique look. So this means you can have several different squads with their own paint scheme.

My impression of the Dark Eldar minis hasn't changed. The entire range is well thought out. I absolutely love the new Razorwing and Reaver Jet Bikes. I am however not in love with the prices. I've been collecting GW minis for 20+ years and have endured several changes to the hobby. I would have to say that the recent price hikes tarnished my opinion of Games Workshop. I'm finding it hard to keep up with the hobby and its inflated prices. I think I've reached my breaking point. I'm at the point where I look at the contents of a box and just go "is this really worth what the price tag is saying?".

I'm curious, since I've only ever really collected GW, have there been any price increases with any other companies? Price increases aren't arbitrary or simply due to a desire for profits. When the price of oil increases, it directly influences every aspect of production. From shipping, to distribution, to the cost of living paying employees, to...well, everything. Have other companies like Privateer or Reaper had to increase their prices?

well the thing is i dont mind the price hikes as much since i dont really massivly collect any more i just like buy once every couple months. it just irkes me when they do stuff like what they did with the grotesques.
