Hey there, seeing as though you lot are into chopping up and glueing figs together (and often post your work here), I thought you might be able to help me find a few pieces for a couple of conversion projects I\'m doing on behalf of my mates.
We play a fantasy rpg and if your into that kind thing or have witnessed it, you will no doubt know how difficult it is for players to find a miniature representing the beloved characters they made up...
I mean just where can you find a half fiendish, dandy-fop, halruaan style outcast sorceror with angel wings and a kick ass rapier on his waist, with his loyal weasel familiar on his shoulder and a hellraiser style puzzle box in his left hand while he casts a spell with the right?
See it\'s not easy is it? now imagine you have five players with freaks of their own and you yourself have a few exotic npcs that need scratch built mini\'s too...
Anyway, heres my questions:
1. I\'m looking for loads of different elf heads that look young-ish, adolescent aged mainly, that will fit nicely onto a reaper scale dark heaven miniature.
2. I need some right and left arms (mainly left hands) that will fit onto a Gamesworkshop dark elf body, preferably ones holding a spellbook, wand, dagger or crossbow.
3. I need a lightly armoured young female fighter for my friends PC, she wants a female miniature without the pathetically massive breasts that most sculpters seem to put on anything with a vulva. This figure would be a dream come true if it had a Larry Elmore feel to the face and it and was equipped with a scythe.
4. Wings, I need wings to put onto reaper human sized miniatures, not the ones from the reaper angels set because they are pap. Any suggestions would be good, I like the idea of the wings being massive & showy, if someone could show me a good pic of some wings in relation to reaper/GW sized minis I would send them a happy log vibe.
5. I need a really tall, brick-out-house character, bearish manly man sort, scantilly clad barbarian bloke with a skin head, a real tall miniature to represent a \'goliath\' from D&D. The closest thing I could find was Heresys \'Big Boris\'.
Has anyone ordered from them, are they reliable? And when standing next to a regular reaper or GW miniature how big is Boris? Pics please?
6. If you are aware of the darkelves of D&D called \'Drow\' you will know that they are a bunch of nasty short arses.
Where can I find some cool looking elf figs that will look about 4 and 1/2 feet tall when stood next to your average reaper or GW miniature, maybe I should try smaller scale elves?
7. I NEED a dragon miniature the size of a reaper or GW human figure. Preferably a oriental style one, all windy and that... any knocking about anywhere? If not are there any dragons from different scale games (like the Warmaster ones) only without riders or with riders that are easy to remove while leaving the beautiful scales beneath still sexy?
8. Little guys, I have to get hold of some great little halfling & gnome character models that can represent most fantasy classes, ie: wizards, fighters, clerics, knights etc... Not the warhammer fat belly-huge puddin head rejects thanks.
9. Stealthy rogish, shadowy ninja types, unarmed monks and something like \'Electra\' from the Daredevil mythos, is there such a miniature around anywhere?
10. Kenku, basically men with crow-heads and covered in feathers, wearing robes, cloaks etc. I\'ve had good results by using skaven bodies with heads from old wood elf warhawks but need something better. Ideas?
Dont mention the plastic D&D miniatures, they are dog turd, thanks.
11. I live in the UK, how do I get these wonderful miniatures and cool bits without being stung by some halfarsed online miniature company with no stock or no clue? If you know of a good company who is \'trusty-worthy-nice-nice\' please tell me about em.
12. Paints, I am sick of GW paints and the drying out crud they sell for too much of my hard earned, so what paints do you suggest as an alt, also has anyone got a \'conversion key\', you know, a table showing the names of GW paints and the other company alternatives near it, all simple like?
13. Where can I find some orcs (or something that could pass for an orc) that are not looking like stupid comedy cartoon apes with huge mouths and fists? I want something more like the LOTR\'s orcs but bigger and of a size that makes them look tall next to a typical reaper/GW human sized mini?
14. Battle Cat, yeah BC from He-man! Is there a big, mean, snarly cat out there that will allow a 28-30mm scale barbaric elf miniature ride it and look ok?
15. I want a faerie/sprite miniature, something that looks as big as a GW nurgling orround about. If only those Werner reaper faeries were half the size and had male versions....
Other stuff I\'m tryin ta find:
16. Large monstrous Scorpion miniatures? Where?
17. Clockwork horrors, tin men and animated golems. Small drilling dwarf/gnome inventions and steam punk things. Direct me to some, I checked out the Warmachine stuff at a convention here in the UK but OMG, how expensive are they, anywhere you can get em a bit cheaper?!
18. Vampires and Lestat-like romanticised vamps or simular that dont have the stupidly HUGE fangs stickin out of their gobs...
19. Scary little \'Ringu\' or \'Ring movie\' girl, I would love a miniature like this...
20. Pointy, sharp, man-shaped-golems that are made from ice or shards of glass/crystal...
Thats it for now.
