Thanks for poping in!

Well straight to the point, I have been collecting and painting for 2-3 years now and its all been GW stuff, so that I could do some gaming and meet new people in the hobby etc...

But to be honest I am thinking about a change to how I do my hobby, and not game as much but collect very nice minis just to paint and display ( got a nice display cabnet for my birthday :) )

So the help I need is for you guys to recomend good solid mini company\'s, doesnt need rule systerms just very nice minis to paint and display.

Also could you recomend some paints also and brushes ?

I have full range of GW paints and the full range of Vallejo paints ( model colour ) But I have heard that there is a good range for skin tones ( cant remember the name of it ) and some really good paints for doing white.

For brushes I am using the £70 master paint set from GW, was a gift after they messed me around for 4 months when a order went wrong, which I have enjoyed using, but can you recomend any other brushes.

Thanks guys and looking forward to getting some new minis!

Reaper
Hasslefree,
Heresy
Spyglass
Privateer press
Rackham (While you still can)
Coolminiornot

Those manufaturers should give you enough of a head start.

Yes, wouldn\'t it be wonderful if someone created an online \'database\' of miniatures from all of the different companies, with versions painted by the best mini artists around. There could perhaps even be a function built in whereby people could vote on if a miniature\'s paint job is good or not. Wow, like, it could become a really huge website and could be called...

Definitely http://hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/

They are so deceivingly hard to paint. They look really simple, with large flat spaces and no fiddly detail, but Kev\'s sculpts are a challenge in themselves!

Get some of Raul Latorres sculpting goodness (and a few from Carrasco) from here: http://www.enigmaminiatures.com/

Wyrd: http://www.wyrd-games.net/shop/home.php excellent stuff from a range of different sculptors.

Edgar Ramos new(ish) company: http://www.madpuppetminiatures.com/ he also did alot of stuff for Wyrd, mentioned above.

Dark Slave (which are now Tale of War) http://www.darkslaveminiatures.com/tienda/ some good Spanish stuff, relatively new company.

http://www.heresyminiatures.com/ Andy Foster\'s stuff, home of Thrud!

Cheers matty, will add them to my list and check them out!

Must admit I am very impressed by your latest work, your skin tones are fantastic ( read your tut on your website also )

Where do you buy the p3 range of paints from ?

Cheers, got the P3\'s from Traveling man down next to the Central Station.

They also may be selling off the Rackham stuff they have on a mega sale soon (every other stockist is) so might be an idea to keep an eye on them (although I ain\'t been in for weeks)

Theres also a great model shop in North Shields, right on the high street. They sell loads of stuff, including most of the Andrea line.

way back in the fourms day we started a thread like the word association (Supervike! lol) that in order to post you had to post a mini companys link.

I give you the LINK!

plus for the older peoples on here, its good for a trip down memory lane...the last post is by Tuubje. and they end up talking about beer, now that I look at it.
