I don\'t play 40K, so I don\'t know all that much about it. However, I always see dreadnaughts in very static poses. Perhaps you could do something there. One arm/weapon raised in a triumph or holding a standard. I see alot of stuff done with the bases, but instead of just standing over a fallen enemy, the dread\' could be holding a tyrannid or a chaos marine in its fist. Depending upon how it\'s equipped, you could set a rocket at the end of a wire and wrap cotton smoke back to the launcher.

Alternatively, instead of a triumphant pose, you could have some fun with battle damage and turn it into a \'last stand\' vignette. The dreadnaught, heavily damaged but still fighting, is holding to the last. \'Course, I don\'t know if that would make for some bad mojo on the gaming table and set your dread\' up for defeat from here on out, if you believe in that sort of thing…

The idea of an \'in motion\' dred sounds good. How about having it charging? You could model it running/leaning forward? or leaping off something.

Checking out the model, an in motion dread doen\'t seem like it would work, due to the feet. However if you want to give it a go, let the modelling saw rip! Personally, if I had the money, I\'d buy a Chaos Dreadnought set and have a duel.

I don\'t know if this would be possible but one thing I don\'t recall seeing is an airborne dread. I know it isn\'t supposed to be but a simple conversion using the engine exhaust piece might do. Im thinking of the exhaust pointing downwards with perhaps sculpted blasts of heat coming out of them. You could then sculpt longer pipes of the opposite end channeling them back into the dread, I don\'t rightly know ifthis would be doable with a metal dread but you did ask :)

Simple conversion....

I always add a lot of washers between the body and the legs to give the dred added height. IMO they look better this way...I made an extra tall one once with washers and GS and made it look like he was rearing up and looking over to his side. Even a couple of washers makes it look different from the rest...:D

Not much into 40K myself, but I took a look at the GW website to get an idea of what the dread looks like. Along the lines of an airborne dread, how about if the dread was jumping off a cliff onto some hapless victim below?

There is also an article on posing at Prophet miniatures here.

Well, is this mini for gaming or display? If it\'s for gaming then you\'re really limited to what you can do for space sake and line of sight issues. If it\'s for display then i say go crazy with it! Have hords of Orks running at it with Orkie bloodie bits everywhere and an Ork in his Dreadnough claw, some orks on fire... stuff like that. You could even have some Ultramarines hiding behind it or crawled up on top of it too... hehehe ;) Space Wolves to the rescue... againlol
