Need help painting with Vallejo

Trying out Vallejo paints. For some reason the existing layer that I paint on keeps rubbing off when further adding more layers. The Vallejo container is shaken thoroughly then mix appropriatedly with water. I use GW white primer. Does any one else have this problem? What am I doing wrong? I also use GW paints and do not have this same problem. You input/experience would be appreciated.

You\'re probably not letting the paint dry enough before attempting the next layer. If you\'re using the Model Color line, it tends to take longer to dry than GW paints because it has a different type of binder (and you tend to dilute it more because you can and still keep the coverage). Diluting it partially with medium rather than water might help it dry faster (you\'re not diluting out the binder while still diluting color). Otherwise, perhaps a handy hair dryer?

yeah i experienced this problem at first..... no real way around it except painting when layer completely dry. Also apply paint gently and use minimal brush strokes.

I had that problem too when I made the switch from Citadel paints. Waiting for them to dry completely is important. If your paints are new or haven\'t been used for a while they\'ll need to be shaken really vigorously before each use. Don\'t worry, the peeling problem will go away once you get used to using them.

I never had that Problem, so I can\'t tell whats really wrong.
Does the primer too rub of where you paint a new layer with the vallejo paints or only the colour ?

The primer doesn\'t rub off. I\'m probably not letting the paint dry long enough. I\'m going to try KatieG\'s suggestion of using a medium. Thank you all, this has been very helpful.
