Hi all,
I just needed to share with someone my grief.
My sweet puppy had to be put to sleep today. For those who have never seen him in the PYP thread, Moki was a beautiful red Doxi, he was with us for just under 12 years. About 4 years ago he broke two vertibrea in is back, Moki spent about 6 months in a doggy wheel chair, we did months of physical therapy. And almost a year after his accident, he could walk again.
Because of the accident he has suffered some health problems usually seen in older dogs, and today when we took him to the vet. she told us that the only hope was more surgery, and that he probably would not survive. The other option, was to do nothing and watch my little guy slowly stangle to death because of the growth on his neck. The last option was to take him away from his suffering. Moki was put to sleep today at 3:00 this afternoon.
Moki was the best dog I have ever had, I use to joke that he was my son (I only have daughters)
I am going to miss him so very much.
Thank you for letting me share just a bit of my little guy with you all.
Ginny
