My new mini company

I've been developing a range of models and a world for them to reside in over the last year or so, and the first release is finally getting cast up at the moment.

I'm still keeping things rather hush hush as far as giving up any really huge detail. I'm not going to mention the company name or model details and background or anything like that just yet, but I did finally grow tired of not sharing anything at all. As the proper website for my stuff won't go live until March, I've stuck something up on my mini painting blog today.

I'm hoping that the cliche a picture speaks a thousand words stands up here.

Would love to know what people think. :)

She has been traditionally sculpted at 32mm, but there are other models in the range sculpted digitally, so they have a lot more versatility. I plan on releasing one of these as a larger kit. Probably the third release, either at 92mm sort of size or 1/12. It all depends on casting costs.

The 32mm models will released in an initial limited run and be similarly priced to Studio McVey stuff. The casting quality will be of the same high standard as in that range too.

Here's hoping!

I think the large scale one may be a bit too big. Just make sure you don;t out size and/or out price yourself

Dribble, Dribble and Drool.
Larger scale will be a serious HIT for people who go to Open Painting Comps like Salute & Euro-Militaire.

I think there is a market out there, and it's one I want to explore, but I'm sticking to the smaller scale for the most part. I love big kits though, and the one I have in mind for the first larger release will be utterly perfect for it. It's a very dynamic model and has elements that will appeal to various markets I reckon.

Expect more in depth information and pictures of actual models soon. Until then, thank you for your patience and continued pre-mini salivation! ;)

Just a little update. Mass production in a go and things are getting exciting! I'll have a proper load of info and images before the month's out. In the meantime, this will have to do.

congratulations! It must be an ace feeling to finally have a production run of your own company's first miniature sitting in front of you. She's a lovely design, too. Any chance of some nice close ups of the actual piece?

I'm all good for a painter thanks, have a rather well know and respected one on the case. Feel free to buy one in a little while and paint her though! ;)

I'm at the stage you may have found yourself in with a detailed paintjob, heavy duty piece of coursework or big work project where I've been too close for too long. This has been building for about a year now and there have been some trials and tribulations along the way. Although I am totally thrilled to see them accumilated together and cast up to a really good quality, the niggle of needing to sell them and make up the cash I've invested is dulling the overall thrill. It's not that I'm completely cold to it, I was all giggly and silly when they arrived, but I do have to look at them as a product now as well as something I find really awesome!

Don't worry though, I'm sure the 'WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! Look at this, look at it, it's so cool' response will return when aforementioned awesome painter sends the model back to me all shiny and colourful and I can show her off properly (which is when you'll see the close ups).

Cool, I like the concept art. Will reserve my judgement on the mini till I get a closer look.

I started my own minis company last week :)

Working on the web site today.

You really seem to have a problem with over salivation Mike, I think I have some medicine that can sort that out, so will stick some in the packaging of your first order! ;)

Isn't that the little packet that says "Do Not Eat"? Should you just swish it around in your mouth for a bit, or just apply to the lips and let the magic do its thang?

How do you think I manage to lick my brushes so often?
Well at least it comes out both sides of my mouth equally so I must be level headed.

When are these babies out on sale? And/Or are you going to Salute?
