GREAT mini.... only thing id change are the wounds... sure a few cuts and scrapes... but with a wound that large on the knee i seriously doubt hed be left standing!

the only problem i have is the colors are very muted. not bold enough. besides that its amazing. i thought it was a larger scale at first.

He\'s military, its supposed to be muted.

:D

Seriously though, this is a fantastic piece, and as sad as I am to say it, if this bugger came over to the states it would hands down win a GD easily.

Absolutely stunning piece!

Simply superb.

As for the leg wound being too big, you would be amazed at what people can do despite having serious wounds (shock and adrenaline), that knee wound is just a scratch.

\"Its just a scratch...\"

Its not often that I say that something\'s underrated at a 9.6 but that definitely needs to be rated higher. That\'s astounding work. I\'m sure you did the judges a favour and slapped the sense back into them right?

Excellent work. I agree with Frustrated Father. This would likely have won a demon here in the US. I\'m glad I don\'t have to compete with all the French entries.

oh..! So this didn\'t win anything either..? what an astounding quality of entries! You have a great technique and the colour selection is very pleasing to my eyes. I love the ambient feel you are talking about. The conversion is very dynamic and the painting and sculpting of the face is truly jaw-dropping. You should be really proud of this achievement!!

However when the judges have to choose between entries of this high standard.. I think there were some things that were to your disadvantage. This is really nit-picking.. but so are the judges of GD.

You get the things you do with GS right.. but they get slightly uneven in some cases. And a few more lack the sharp edges that makes the detail pop. My point is, even if the conversion is very good, you can in fact tell that it is a conversion. The second thing is that there are some small places where the painting isn\'t up to the very high levels of the rest of the mini.. for example the freehand on the left shoulderpad and the grenades on the backpack. It is nothing I would mend about. But when judging.. this can be the small thing that shift the judges opinion. I think the cure for these small problems would be to invest even more time in the mini.. be sure to make every last detail in a GD-winning standard. I read that you invested 40-45 hours on this piece.. and when it comes to GD, it\'s not really that much.

I think you have steadily improved, and I think next time you\'ll get your demon. Again.. amazing work, would have beat the crap out of most contestants in another GD. But the french this year was truly something.

I think that this may be the BEST IG on CMON. Incredible work my friend. :D

This is just knitpicking. But, I would of liked to have seen this dirtyed up a little more, some mud stains on his right knee or on the end of the chainsword might of been a nice addition. I would also expect to see a little more blood from those wounds. But as I said this is just knitpicking. :D

I like the fact that the freehand looks as though the Sarge put it there. It gives it life.

i think it is your best mini ever done, and the colour, the dynamism, the execution, and the ambient you have achieved it is awesome.. you have entering in the highest level.. you have to improve some things , but the overall effect is superb, it is underated in my opinion.if you compare it with other minis with the same rating. i hope we will see more minis as good as this one. congrats.

I am yet again amazed at the quality of the french GD\'s this model is something special, the colours look a little bleached but not inappropriotely so, what amazes me about this model is just the level of fine detail and especially that on things that unlike freehand designs dont have preset guidlines, (in other words- blood). People may argue that you do not show enough for that level of injury but personally i think it works in your favour, it looks more intimate, more personal and more real than random slapping of blood splatters.
I would apsolutly love to be tutored in the french style of painting, putting a level of detail that would be more appropriote on an inquisitor scale model onto one of a mere 28mm, but we can always dream
