My first Sci-fi miniature

This turned out well. As you can see by the casting the arms were not filled but I basicly just glued it right together and painted it in metalics and diped it. I wanted to show the detail of this thing and how fantastic it turned out. I\'m happy with him but need to sculpt a round base for it yet. Right now I only have 50mm square bases.

Interesting mini, and the dipping method worked fairly well to accentuate the details. Those arm junctions really should be filled - they stand out too much.

Yeah, they do in that picture but I just cut them off the sprue and glued so there was very little clean up. I mostly wanted to just get the guy painted so people can see the details. I am not woried to much about the paint or assembly, it just sits on a shelf here as an example, no masterpiece of painting here. lol

Reminds me of a mix between a cyberman, and that massive dead alien from the film \"Alien\" :)

The \"Space Jockey\". I agree. And yes it\'s a really neat mini, very weirdly alien.

I\'m very happy you keep saying alien, because my thoughts were that it was created by alien and not human hands. It was kind of hard to make something look robotic yet stay away from hard edges or soft curves and get the balance in between. I honestly was thinking of H.P. Lovecraft when sculpting this thing. Thanks again everyone.

I agree about the alien atmosphere to the model - I especially like the chest, head and hands. Somehow the head makes me think of the robot in \"Metropolis\" even though it\'s much more humanoid:

That thing is cool. I like the head and the spikes or whatever you would call them on the head. Sorta like the clones from Confrontation\'s Dirz, very cool! Thanks for sharing that.
