My BFG

This big gun is intended for an Iron Warrior Daemon Prince. It will most likely be part of my Golden Demon 40k Monster entry (replacing one I have already made that uses a lot of existing GW parts but looks much less realistic and chaotic in my opinion).

I\'ll probably never manage to finish it in time though, so I might as well show it as I go.

There\'s still lots to do. Plenty of details to add in Green Stuff and some more hydraulic dampeners to take the recoil. It will be bolted into a sculpted arm, with the hand fused into a metal gauntlet. I am dreading painting it. Have a feeling it\'s going to be a total git. Oh, and as you can see from my well gnawed thumb in one of the shots it\'s gonna be pretty big!

Any thoughts?

Looks cool seems to have a lot of wicked details. They way I see it you only have to take care that you don\'t put on that much more detail, afraid it\'s going to get to busy.
What do you use as heat source for bending the plastic rods?

Yeah, it\'s gonna be a bitch to paint! Oh, you allready said that... :innocent:

It looks very cool, though. I love all the little tubes and pipes and wires and stuff there. Makes it look a lot more interesting than just a box with a bunch of pipes coming out of one side.

But I\'m glad I won\'t be painting it! ;)

I think that I need you to come and help me with some plasticard work. I\'m sure those weren\'t the thoughts you were soliciting -- but it was the first thing to come to mind.

I also think that it\'s going to look great on an Iron Warriors prince. It has the right amount of rough touches and delicate details to balance with the available art, etc.

Good work so far.

Yeah, I\'m doing my best to keep it in as many bits as possible to aid painting but I\'m prepared for the worst!

Manus - No heat source is necessary for the thinner of the rods. Just wrap them around a thicker tube to work some bend into them and you\'ll be all good. For the thicker ones, just dunk them in hot water to improve thier flexibility.

Misterjustin - No special advice to be honest. Patience is proving to be important, having loads of raw materials to mess about with for inevitable screw ups, a metal ruler and a sharp knife, plenty of trial and error and lots of spare time.

GobboTeef - You\'re in luck chap, I\'m in Nottingham too and get my stuff from Gee Dee Models. Here\'s their website. It\'s near the neon lit porn shop and all the gothic clothing stores, in the less central bit of town!
