Myself and a couple others (brokenblade and coops320 on CMON) have recently embarked on a journey - a new miniature related community focusing on all things miniatures - painting, modelling, gaming etc etc etc.

I don\'t mean to kill the chicken in the egg, but what are you offering that isn\'t already on CMON? I mean besides having it run by a nice bunch of good painters .

Well, right now minipainters is a small site/forum of general orientation-as it is it will suffer quite some struggle to grow-I think you could specialize on a certain topic/side of the hobby, otherwise most peaople will simply stay on CMON, since it\'s bigger, has more members to chat with and has a far bigger gallery.

Just an example: turn it into the ultimate NMM pinting forum, find some articles and skilled painters from CMON and ask them permission to use their articles and pics possibly convince some of them to openly discuss their minis, the complete procedure they use to paint them and some more little triks, then just exchange the banners with CMON and it could grow preatty fast.

A way to keep the flow costant would be to add every week a new article on a specific model with a slightly differen NMM (you have some with better golds, some with better chrome, and the simple ones for beginners-there are always some little differences and little triks that each painter uses...

Just an idea

I know you meant it to be a joke, but in case somebody didn\'t get it, I only meant that the organisers from \"minipainters\" are good painters, and not anything else .

it is in no way meant to replace cmon, such a thing would be insane, meerly offered as another site where people can share/look for ideas

we will all keep on cmon 100% don\'t worry aout that

Woah never wanted this to become a \"who\'s better than who\" thread! lol

First up we are not trying to \"take over CMON\" - why would we want to? our thinking is simply \"the community would benefit from another resource\". We love CMON and have done for a long time.

Second - everyone has to start somewhere! after a month we are very impressed to have gained the small number of members we have done. We may not have hundreds of resources available compared to other sites, but thats understandable!

I think theirs room for other fourms, I may not have time to run to them all.. after all theirs only so much time in the day and some subjects get asked at every board.

I myself would love a fourm that just delt with modeling and converting and nothing else. Everything befor you applied that first sprayof primer.

We dont have a shop tho and dont plan to so I doubt walcmon will happen hehe
