I recently picked the thing up, but then again, I\'ve had some cash to spare as of late anyway. While I can\'t paint like the pros around here, I could probably manage something or a 7-8 score if I wanted to bother. For me, the video\'s ended up being more of a confirmation of techniques rather than teaching me new ones.

I\'m not saying it doesn\'t give you some pretty darned good insight(a bunch of stuff I hadn\'t even thought about...), but unless you intend on spending the time needed to actually practice and get good, then this might not be an investment you want to make.

Now if you are already chucking a goodly amount of time into trying to become good painter, then yes, this IS worth the $30 for the DL version.

If nothing else, it serves to inspire you to at least try to paint better. The unfortunate side-effect, is that after watching this thing, I\'ve recently gone and picked up a bunch of minis I wouldn\'t normally bother with. Stuff that just looks interesting to paint, but I\'ve never looked into.

PS: One complaint about the vid though... It does tend to drag on after a bit. It\'s nice they tried to show you almost the entire process of painting the wolf, but about 8-9 vids into the 13, you start wanting to skip parts...

I got the DL version and have enjoyed it immensely.

That said, I also think it was not quite what it should have been, or advertised itself to be. It is called \"The Complete Guide to Miniature Painting\". It most definitely was not. What it was is a nice video of a master painter working on a Wolfen model, and chatting with the film-maker. Its very good for teaching some specific styles of painting, such as layering on many multiple strokes of colored water.

The clarity of the film was quite good. The production value was not as impressive. Their website was more flashier than the actual film.

All-in-all, I thought it was worth buying, but be mindful that the description pumps it up more than what you get.

Now, keep your eye out for a real mini-painting tutorial on dvd that will be premiering at Kublacon this year.
