Question for the dutch and Belgian CMON\'ers, is the dutch mega gaming day any fun for someone who only paints (doesnt game)?

Who are going november 16th?

Hi Daan,

I haven\'t heard anything good yet about the MegaGamingDay (where painting is concerned; for gaming it is said to be ok.)
There is a painting competition, which could be nice. But apparently the quality of the entries was not that great last year.
I was planning on taking a look myself this year, but alas I don\'t have the time nor the energy to go. Maybe next year...

Did you know there is a dutch minipainting group on yahoo? Find it at
groups.yahoo.com/group/dutch_minipainters/
We are planning on doing some workshops and such on the Spellenspektakel (\"games spectacular\") in Eindhoven this year. If it all works out, there could be some great painters and sculptors there (on the DMP-group are people like Ramon Laan, Koen ... (sorry don\'t know his last-name, but he did manage to win a daemon at this years UK games-day) and Ming-Hua Kao).

If you go to the MegaGamingDay, let me know how it went and if it was any good.

Bye,

Jacky

Ga misschien naar Spellenspektakel, en misschien ook naar GT in Tilburg, kijken. Ligt beetje aan tijd die ik heb, nogal druk op het moment.

Back to English: wasnt Koen the one with the DA-dread ? I saw that one here (Arnhem) in the shop, \"in the pewter\" so to say.

We saw that one, and a friend of mine, who paints DA also, saw that, and just wanted to quit painting :D... ok, he said it as a joke, he can paint quite well. But we both knew that we could never do _that_, the dread. It was inspiring as well as depressing lol

edit; where are you at the spellenspektakel ? what kind of \"firmanaam\", en waar ongeveer ? heeft het spellenspek dezelfde indeling als vorig jaar, ongeveer?

At the moment we are still \"planning to be there\". So I can\'t confirm anything yet.
There have been some demonstrations, workshops, etc. under the banner of \"DutchMiniPainters\" at Noorderspel, ducosim, elf fantasy fair, etc. The respons from the public was good. Now we\'re hoping to also be at the spellenspektakel this year. I\'m not quite sure how far the preperations are at the moment. (bad english, I know, bit tired at the moment)
When we know if and when things are happening, it will be posted to this forum (as well as to some others).

Best regards,
Jacky Visser

I\'ll actually be at Spellenspektakel as well, doing painting demos, a seminar on Golden Demon and that kind of stuff, bringing new and upcoming studio bits, should be a good laugh. I was there three years ago and we had a little painting comp as well(dunno if that\'s happening this year though). I like it, although the convention has always been heavy on the ccg\'s, but there\'s a lot of traders and companies selling miniatures that you don\'t see every day.

Had a look at the (rather ugly) website of spellenspektakel and it looks like something my oldest son might also enjoy. Think we will be having a look around there on the sunday.

It\'s not as time-consuming as CMON or some of the other yahoo!groups out there. This is mainly because most members of DMP are also members of CMON, mini-painter yahoo!group, 1listsculpting yahoo!group, etc. Most technical subject are discussed on the international lists. While the DMP list is mainly used to organise meetings. Though you could also pose questions there, and talk about styles, techniques, new products, anecdotes, or whatever else you want to talk about (as long as it has something to do with miniatures of course)

Bye,

Jacky
