Hey folks!

Another new model just finished, plus my first attempt at snow basing...

The pics are at least a LITTLE bit better... Still having a tough time figuring out this digital SLR... Even in "Manual" mode, not everything is manual!!! VERY frustrating...

Anyway, lemme know what you think. Thanks!

the white highlights could have been blended better, but that comes with time...
the overall look is very cool;)...

i hear you on the camera issues...
i've been tryin' to get my Sony a200 dialed in, and it's like movin' up from a Toyota to a Ferrari...
very intimidating...
at least you like cameras, and have the motivation...
i just like my brushes...

lookin' forward to the next one...
keep up the good work...

some parts are a little rough perhaps but i agree overall it's a really nice painted ice golem :good: never seen this mini before, cool guy!

yep its first for me too, very nice something terminator'ish about it, more snow on the base unless it's the spring thaw lol.

Yeah, I was noticing in the photos that some of the blending layers are a bit too subtle. I'll work on that the next time I paint him. :)

For the snow, I wanted a little more variation than just flat white on the ground, so I left some of the bare earth showing through. I think I didn't leave enough, though.

good work, is a ice golem. Nice also the mini, you have choose a good model and good colors, compliments!!! :)

Nice one!

Actually, we met for a little bit at the GW Grand Tourny up here in Calgary. I was an outrider helping run the fantasy side of things. Also I was drinking like a homeless person that weekend. Good times!

That's some nice paint, I've got a couple fo these dudes and I might just have to paint one up. I thought of doing one as a metal kind of steel looking golem. Hmmm....

Calgary!!! One of my fave Canadian cities!! I have only ever been there once, and a lot of it is a drunken/hungover blur... *heeheehee* MAN you Canadians know how to drink!!! I think there is a "thong" story floating around about that weekend... *shudder* (NOTE: Not my thong)

For Malifaux I am actually assembling a Guild crew. The Decemberist crew I've been painting and photographing is actually for my wife. She is a HUGE fan of the Rasputina model, especially the photo in the rulebook of her with the stripey stockings. So, of course, I have to paint the model to look like THAT... *sigh* She's almost done, so hopefully I'll finish the base and post a thread about her soon. :) I do wanna thank EVERYONE for their comments about all the models I have been posting lately!! Everyone on here has been so great with helping me out!

The Ice Golem REALLY lends itself to being painted. It was a LOT more fun to do than I thought it would be. And the Sabretooth Cerberus was the exact opposite. I was looking most forward to the white tiger, and it was the one I had the most frustration with. Goes to show you can never tell about a model till you start putting paint on it... But I think the idea of a Steel Golem is GREAT!!! I can't wait to see it finished!!!
