Making a field

I want to make a field as part of my base for a mini I\'m working on. I want it to look like the wind is traveling across it since the mini\'s clothing/fabric is blowing in the wind as well. I\'m going for a feel like this:

Anyone got any ideas on what I could use to get this effect????

Fake Fur as used in Teddy Bear making.
Use thinned PVA to stiffen the fabric in the waves you want.
It\'ll take several days to get the drying time for each section.
DON\'T try to do it all in one go.

I have used fake fur to do a lawn and it worked very well. They way I did it was to use watered down acrylic paints. The consistency of say syrup. Not WATER. I worked the paint in till it was to the roots and damp, not soaked. Keep it to the side while you\'re doing something else and every 10 minutes or so take your fingers and sort of ruff it up. This keeps the individual hairs from turning into large clumps.

Try to use some yellow ocher, maybe a touch of brown and scrub these in RANDOMLY. If it\'s all one single hue it looks like astroturf.

This is one I did the above with. I was going for a park lawn look so the grass isn\'t as randomized.

I haven\'t actually tried this, but perhaps hanging it upside down would help making it stand up more.
