Lysette and the Knotwork

This is Reaper\'s beautiful Lysette figure sculpted by Werner Klocke and painted in autumn colors using Reaper Master Series Paints. She features considerable freehand Celtic knotwork, and youthful freckles. The gem on her staff has been replaced with crystal clear styrene and tinted to contrast with her attire.

She is perched atop a custom sculpted, rune-carved staircase to give her a better vantage point to cast her spells.

I mainly did this to give myself ample practice at the knotwork. I love painting that stuff!

Great work

The face of this mini is the difficultest part and you did paint it very well.
The knotwork -brilliant.
Maybe the hair needs some more highlights.
I saw that you replaced the crystal by a real one or is this painted ?

Very nice...

The only thing would be that I am not convinced on the freckles....at least at this distance, it looks a bit more like acne than freckles.

Freckles have more of a brownish tint....Still very impressive!

The crystal is actually carved from a bit of GW flying base sprue and then glazed with a 50/50 mix of MSP Clear Green and Gloss Medium Varnish.

The pic of the freckles came out a little soft. They were a bit browner but to knock back the intensity I glazed them a little with the base skin color. I\'ll have to try it again sometime and experiment a little more.

Thanks for the comments!
