Good morning,

This is the first time i have painted something in 6 months because of work, ive read a lot and tried to absorb adivce from what ive read on here and a 3hr painting lesson with generulpoleaxe who taught me a lot :D

I think the cloth came out quiet well. It was entered in local store battle of the brush and came third out of three entrys put a lot in and feel quiet disappointed.

Looking for adivce on whats lacking what i need to pickup and any pointers.

Thanks for taking the time to look and pls vote:

he\'s pretty good., glad you have much better pics

while i like the spilled oil on the base, the rest of the base is a bit mediocre. it looks like painted sand rather than a muddy effect which it looks like you are going for

Yeah it was the first base i really ever did and as chris and tommie have said it has that classic xmas pudding look.

I might rebase it later on and update the pics :D

dont use sand. try using polyfilla for the actual basework. maybe mix some brown pastels with pva or gloss varnish for the actual mud colour. you can use that then on his feet to dirty him up too
