OOOO me first me first! :) The highlighting looks good, quite smooth actually. My only recommendation is water your paints down a bit more to get smoother application overall. Also when applying the basecoat make sure it covers the area completely, I can see some primer showing through the red.

cheers for the pointer diablo; abit more spesefic enquirey now. how do i get my helmet to look like this one colourwise. mine just looks like a dirty white colour rather then a skull.

I would use a base of something like foundation grey and just work in mixes with white up to the desirved level. Make sure you leave grey and the grey/white mix showing in the recesses, and a very tiny amount of white for the final highlight.

Also, wet paints work betterest.

Personally for the skull i would have done:

khemri brown, Kommando khaki, Bleached bone, Skull white

With all of the intermediary colours in between. maybe given it a wash of devlan mud at the end ONLY in the parts that should be shaded. not cover the whole thing like glaze.

If you do blending it may give a better effect, however i like the red. im probably gives a great affect when on a wargame table. The transitions look pretty good. i wouldn\'t have used orange to highlight red.. as i don\'t really like that. Personal preference. but it looks good. Keep up the work and practice practice practice!

At the moment what is holding the helmet back abit is the fact that the face inside seen though the damage is barely visible and of so close a tonality that is disappears.
Personally in order to make the face \"pop\" within the helmet I\'d use some GW purple wash pushed into the edges of the helmet damage to provide enough contrast to show the face off.
