Hi Di Ho!

I am desperately looking for THIS...

roller-chain-46434.jpg8

Must be very, very, very small (smaller then a Bike chain...) and fully functionable... so less then 1/2 cm / 0,2 inch...

I have been looking for this for more then 1 Month straight and failed in finding it... Anyone has an Idea where to get It...?... A Russian friend told me that he found his in an old Needle Printer, but I will need ~ 50 cm / 20 inches of it...

I already considered to use the laser to cut it by myself, then assemble it, but since our laser can only cut Plastic and not metal it would be a weak chain... I need something kinda sturdy and "true"...:)...

Hope you can help me... It is for a new Diorama and I think this might be my most complex so far...^_^...

Years ago I found some small roller chain in a surplus store, no idea what it was for.
Try going to a computer recycling place, they might have older photocopiers or printers where the scanning mechanism might be chain driven.

There is also photo-etch chain for motor-cycles

Here's how it looks completed

Might be expensive in the end for how much you need.
Hope this helps

matt,

i know exactly how to get it. check out tiny bikes, that have working parts. you can find these at dollar stores, and many time you can get them for $10 or less.
