Its been a long time since I posted on these boards. I took a break from painting from a few months (last WD I bought was WD 300) to pursue other things, but just recently I got the itch to pick up a brush again.

Anyhoo, I decided to give NMM a go and in the process I taught myself how to use feathering/blending! DO remember that is is a my first attempt at anything for a while and it is also a first try:

It is unfinished, I didnt know how to get a bout things so I tryed a bit of everything (I was quite please wuth the SE even though its in the wrong place.

I need lots of advice ie. where to put highlights, where I could improve on the blending, if Im using the right colours etc. basically, I need to know evertything Ive done wrong! lol

Thanks

P.S. Yes, it does look better in pictures :p.

Your pic is too close. Even good NMM at that distance will look poor. Try taking a full pic of the mini like you would if it was complete, with a little better lighting. Be glad to take a look again when you get it posted.

Theres a trick to working out where your highlights go. Take an bare mini (no undercoat or black undercoat). have a light source directly above it. and take a pic with no flash. print out the pic. It will show you where the highlight go for the NMM. It doesnt work for SENMM tho.
