Lizardman color scheme troubles

Hallo everybody!

I was not sure if this is more of a WIP topic but anyway:

I was thinking of a color scheme for my BloodBowl lizard man team and this was my inspiration were these little guys https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eublepharis .

I tried it out quickly on an old skink and I'm not really happy with the colors. Imo it looks ok in a pic but in reallity it looks like a brown blob .

Does anyone have any ideas how to make it pop a bit more on a gaming table? Maybe make the pink a bit lighter, or turning the brown scales yellow? What do you think?

Thanks and BR.

what I would do while keeping most of the colors:
- all scales to purple, even a more vivid purple (right now because of the highlights it's a bit pastely) ,
- body would remain the current yellow-orange-brown
- maybe repaint the crest on the head to some green/bluegreen/turquise
- blowpipe/spearshaft: dark brown/dark brownish grey
- grassy green base

the idea is using a triad from color schemes (green-yellow/orange-purple)

Thanks for the advice!

I will try it, but I decided to keep this one as a reference and do a new one, however my airbrush or compressor died when I started (not sure whats going on) so I guess it will take a bit...

So I finally got around to trying it out, I tried one with entirely purple scales and I came up with making part of the scales yellow (the yellow might be too much, but I think the entire back purple is too much, but I think the interrupted looks more interesting, I might swap the yellow for a brown again).

Im still not really happy, something is missing. Im also not sure about the green-blue crest it makes it a bit too comic-like imo. I didn't make the highlights on the scales as extreme as the first time, but maybe I should go a bit brighter? Maybe the purple needs to get a bit less dark? Currently Im thinking about going back to the 1st version and making the shoulder pads a bright teal. Might this be an option, that could work?
