Rackham\'s Confrontation LIMITED & SPECIAL EDITIONS:

**This is my current running list and I\'ll be keeping up to date by editing this post as I find out more info, rather then re-post within the thread.** LAST UPDATED: 08-Jan-04

Limited Editions are limited production miniatures that are numbered and labeled as such. Special Editions are NOT limited production, but Limited Edition Art cards instead of the usual photo cards. Once the Art cards are gone the miniature will continue production with a Photo card.

Most of the previously released Limited Edition have been re-released in German and are scheduled for re-release in English; some are going to be 2nd Incarnations.

Mail Order Editions are exclusive to the Rackham Mail Order and are not limited in any way other than that. Some have been released to distributors for short periods of time.

Yep, I\'m sure I asked on a number of forums and got the same answer on each. The key is the numbered edition.

The GW LE\'s I\'ve had are pretty few and far between. I\'ve got a pair of 2002 GD Chaos Champs, a pair of the Marauders Champs, one Skulz Captain (which was apparently an off the rack mini in the UK all along), some army box standards (Khemri and Dark Elves).

The only diorama I ever got was a brutally sculpted Gaunt\'s Ghosts one, done by Mark Bedford. I\'m tempted to say he didn\'t finish the model when it went to casting, it was that bad. No detail, shitty faces/hands, brutal sharp folds in the cloaks, visible scraping lines (from when you run the edge of an Xacto along cured putty to smooth it out, ya know?) and generally looked like ass. Cost me like $30 pounds or some crap... ugh

Finn, how do you get those Black library minis? I\'ve only seen that they were available AFTER they sold out. Seems you must be in some cult to get notified about them!

Black Library dioramas

Basically, they will only let you have them if you use the special order form printed in Warhammer Monthl. So a foolproof method is to subscribe. This is exactly what Black Library are trying to encourage you to do.
Problem is, WHM is a pile of pants, and I don\'t want to buy regular copies when the order forms are only printed in about one in ten. So I just keep my ear to the ground and try to determine when a Ltd ED is coming out and then haunt my local GW store for a copy of the appropriate WHM.
The only other option of course is eBay. I have acquired a couple from here and I am still looking for a Kal Jericho which was the first one to be released.

That\'s weird, because I was thinking of gettig a subscription. Sice I\'m more into comics and the art, I think I might like it. What I need to unsubscribe from is White Dwarf.. I usually don\'t find anything interesting, and it tells me things are available when it takes another 3 weeks to get in the online store! (Which, of course is pretty much the only online retailer thanks to their bloody coup)

I know what you are saying Chrispy. I only bother reading the \'New Release\' section and any articles on painting (which generally aren\'t too shabby). The rest has started to leave me cold. And I am Soooo hacked off with LOTR. Yes I liked the films but I could cheerfully rip those pages out of my WD.
I know you Americans are spoiled for choice when it comes to comics, but might I suggest you take a look at 2000AD. It\'s the only long established British comic and has really taken off lately due to a buy-out by people who really care for the genre and who appreciate that their audience is primarily 20 somethings, not school boys.

Well, I just found out that we won\'t be getting Harbinger in my local store because they haven\'t answer emails from our shop keeper. So he will only get them in if one of the regular distributers brings it in. Very disappointing!

I\'ve just gotten back into some limited (2 or 3 titles) comic collecting, inspiration for painting mainly. I have to say I\'m \"impressed\" with the level of the violent and sex in them now days. I am really impressed with the art itself, beautiful.
