License plate shenanigans

From my hometown newspaper today.

See, this is the kind of thing that\'s going to eventually drive me nuts and cause me to start taking hostages.

Could you just take the plate to the DMV and say \'I would like a new license plate please, this one can be interpreted (by those looking for a way to be offended) in a negative way\'? Do we HAVE to make such a production (and more than likely waste taxpayer $) over something so trivial?

:cussing:

wow how do you not notice it though that that\'s how that could be interpreted?

At least it was all an accident though and he\'s getting a new plate. People are just so dang sensitive that it\'s better for him in the long run to just replace the plate.

Isn\'t that Aryan?
Sadly, that may be exactly what they were trying to say...

I\'d want one that says \"H8 H8RS\"

I remember this license plate made news a few years back here locally.

The man claimed it stood for \'3 Men technical associates to the 3rd power\'...but actually it just spelled EAT ME backwards. The DOT took the plate away and this guy was raising a fit about it.

Why the hell would it matter if it did say eat me - backwards or forwards?

Ah because the good state thinks that there should be no obscene or questionable language on the license plates.

Interesting, huh?

A few years ago, a friend claimed he\'d seen a tag here that read, \"PHO QUE.\" I\'ve also heard of some other variations (FAUX Q, FAW QZ, etc), but never seen one myself.

I\'d bet there are plenty of intenet speak ones by now: OMG BFF, L33T, BRB, etc. :D

My buddy Tom paid the $200 or so to get vanity plates for his new car: WAAAGH in big red capital letters. The Alberta typeface was rather appropriate for his message.
