Some of you remember my original post, I had some high aspirations. Unfortunately I think my idea out shot my current abilities. I didn\'t give up on him, just changed the idea.

There are still some things to be sanded and right after these pics I primed him. As always ignore the crappiness on the pic quality

The sword is actually the underwire from my wife\'s bra, sanded down with a dremmel. The gun is a starcannon with the inbox sword cut and sanded as a bayonet. Finally the scabbard on his back is also underwire double wrapped in fineline tape and a loose wrap of green stuff.

as always any pic taking help would be appreciated ( I use a Kodak c530, 5.0 mp )

Last night I built a light box, greatly increased the quality of my pics. Anyway this is it sanded and ready for paint.

I have a very stupid question though, How do I get the chain on his scabbard to stay in place? Spray it with some dullcoat? Or use some kind of adhesive?

On the left arm I have one of his hip plates to offset the one on his right leg. This leaves a gap for the socket on the right arm. I was thinking about putting a tau Crisis suit sheild there. Suggestions?

*Edit* - I lied, I forgot the back spines!! :cussing:

Well here\'s an update, worked on him a good bit last night. I think not looking at him a while then coming back has helped me see some flaws ie: pinstripping down the helmet is off center, my blending on the initial gem sucks, and overall my paint is a bit thick. Plus he has some kinda weird dust on him. Anyway, feedback most welcome.

Well, you can say that this particular mini was once closest to your wife\'s heart!
LMAO...Had to say it.

Seriously though...

All I would suggest is:
1) Don\'t use paint straight from the pot
2) Thin your paints a bit.
3) What I use for straight lines free hand....
a}
a bit of masking tape, folded over itself...and hold where you want the lines.
Works great on big surfaces,
b}on smaller surfaces:
Both hands on the surface...Pinky finger stretched out for bracing support, brush hand pinky under mini (or piece) braced against Mini holding hand. Helps to keep your pulse from making the shakey hand wobble.

That\'s all I got.
CHEERS!
