Well somebody has sniped it, the registered average is 1 with 1 vote. but id give it about 5.5. You could brighten parts of the metals up to give contrast and some shading on the black qould help. The face on the goblin looks good. But the reds look a bit transparent and not fully covered.

Yeah and the photo is slightly fuzzy, which may cause some voters to simply hit a low score without even checkign it out. I agree that it is in the 5 to 6 range...

I certainly agree that it is above tabletop, but to be honest only just. James (thecadian) pointed out everything that could help your score and also auction price.

I gave it a 6 before reading this thread.

IMHO auction pieces are more vunerable to snipers as other unscrupulous sellers may try to push scores down to make theirs appear a better buy, but it all sorts itself out in the end.:)

Not to go into another jabberying on about score\'s learn to ignore them.

I think as far as the scores go there are some many excellent minis on the site now that the scores get pushed down.

I would say a 3 is the new tabletop quailty score.

YEah, jsut did a bunch of voting and there appears to be a serious binge of sniping going on. A whole bunch of the low-vote-total minis show signs of sniping: with 3 votes or 4 votes or so, there are a lot of 3.4s and 4s. There are also several, I\'m ashamed to say, that have 1 registered vote and an average of 1 :( So much for the theory that its only anonymous non-registered punks who do the sniping.

@dougaderly - I, too, gave your gobbo a 6. The reasons and ways to improve have pretty much been covered.

I noticed you have this guy up for sale. I noticed alot of minis up for sale have very low scores so I wonder if bidders do this to keep the price of the mini down. Im with every one else at the 6 level for this mini. Did the vote thing.

Iv just noticed the small sycth (sp?) at the bottom hasnt been painted and just left black, this looks a bit wierd unless it was intentional.

People\'s ideas about what \"tabletop standard\" is can differ quite a bit! Some people think tabletop standard is completely covered in paint in a somewhat neat way with a base that is at least not ignored. Others think tabletop standard is neatly painted with basic shading and highlighting.

hey matty,

I need to get a setup to take better pictures. The bottom scythe is actually painted with the same boltgun/chestnut ink/blue ink/tamiya smoke that the other end is painted with, but the lighting doesn\'t help it much.

I\'m gonna have to learn to highlight the black more, I just can\'t seem to strike that balance between highlighted enough without looking silly, and not highlighting enough which looks bland. AH well. But I\'m not really trolling for compliments, I was more amazed that like I said, I expected a score between 5 - 5.5 based on it being playable but not impressive. I hadn\'t realized people around here actually do snipe entries :(

guess I\'m just use to all the nice people!

Um, WHO holds this theory? It doesn\'t take much to be a registered user here after all. Now if only PAYING users votes counted... that\'d make a difference!

/snob ;)

That seems like a LOT of work just to maybe get a few percent higher returns on one\'s auctions... Anyone that competitive on eBay needs to be locked out of the house for a while to breathe some fresh air.
