Less than a month to new book?

So supposedly less than a month from a new book and releases. No news, no hype, nothing. Sometimes I just don't get this company.

Yeah I was really hoping to see a little more hype going on. I'm really loving this game and it is definitely growing in my area. Looking forward to the new book and releases.

Yeah, I'm in a bit of personal conflict regarding this: On the one hand it gives me more time to enjoy the game "as is" and get more miniatures painted, but on the other hand "new stuff" is always awesome! :) Then again, I'm not part of a large community so my experience with the game is far from exhaustive! I've only played 8 games with my Hadross, 7 of them against Shael Han and 1 against Nasier. I dare say there is some more ground to explore here...

However, the enjoyment of the game really suffers from having next-to-no external sources of inspiration. For better or for worse I'm bombarded with stuff going on with GW, PP, and all sorts of other games and miniatures - but WoK is relatively quiet. There just doesn't seem to be any place to turn to keep the hype going...

the pros and cons of KS.
basically anyone interested got everything from the KS about a year ago. So no need to check things, to talk about and await new releases, etc etc.
So it's very quiet.

I personally got a LOT of hadross... but haven't even played once. Those I know to have bought WoK either don't play or already sold everything.

It seems they are still positively pushing this game at Cons, though? I get the impression that the support is there, it's just not very public?

The Arkazan preview was great! :) And of course the other tidbits of information with pictures and/or concept art is fantastic. That was almost two months ago, however; and regardless what I miss is more tidbits of information regarding what's happening with the game "as is" - especially a word about official events/tournaments and any clues regarding the narrative. I'm not talking full reports and substatial updates - just some more frequent minor updates that let me know the game is alive and kicking. :)

It isn't much, but given the fact that there are so many players (or model-owners whould would want to be players) who sit with their WoK collections in relative isolation - those small updates on the webpage should make a world of difference! :)

Thanks for the reply.

There was talk in the "direction of the game" letter that a new book would be out about every 6 or something like that. That would be Feb/Mar time frame. Then in this posthttp://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?61324-No-news-coverage there was talk of a new book going to testers made by Landon. I know I am not the only one thinking new units/releases wold be tied to a book.

Either way thanks for clarifying, even if it really is more of the same lack of info really.

Hey guys!

We currently are working towards improving the community around our games. For Wrath of King we are revamping the narrative event system for conventions, to go along with a new quarterly campaign plan for organized play. In addition we will be moving the play test for Book II to an open format, so look for that later this month. Hope this helps, and keep an eye out for myself or a few other newbies as we work towards this goal.

Landon, Development Team

It's okay that following up every hint, hope and promise isn't easy... but I've seen a few of these "look to the near future" comments that don't manifest - such as the Book II open format testing to be seen in Nov/Dec 2015. However, I don't really want to complain - I'm sure the guys at CMON are working hard! I just want to give some feedback that frequent, small offical posts on what's going on would be a great way to feed the community without having to deal with committment issues on things in the pipeline. :)

Actually there is the even newer Hadross picture which is up on the Facebook page and they said stats will be revealed tomorrow.

There was talk at one of the events which Table Top Gaming News covered which also mentioned the new book every six months and that the second book would include campaign rules with growing experience for commanders and possibly units I want to say.

Either way I hope this game finds success. I have only recently picked it up and have played only once but am planning to play more and am getting my family involved as well.

now that mini design looks much better, than the forgotten hammerhead :), the HH looked like a simple frenzy variant for me.

Not all that scary on the offensive, but it's a great counter-puncher.

It's really hard to convince my friends who are on the fence about this game that it's viable and and supported with amount of effort CMoN has put into backing this game. I have very little comparatively to point to as far as support, dates, tournament updates, campaign rues, new books, etc. Having updates on the main website closer than a few months apart would be a big help. The new models are nice, but there's very little of them on the main site.
