Latest Nasier vs Shael Han gameplay video shenanigans

I just watched the video again and noticed that the "failed" attack to win the game, the Big Sister attacking the Pelegarth Howl was done incorrectly. Derek rolled a 3 (block) and a 7 (strike) on the attack with the Big Sister. Michael forced him to re-roll the 7 with the Howl's Defensive Expertise ability. Derek rolled a 5 (Dodge) on the re-roll. The Big Sister's Precision(1) ability allows Derek to move the 5 up or down 1, so he moves it to a 6. The Big Sister's Unstoppable ability makes the highest non-strike, non-over result a hit. In the Howl's case, this is the 6.

So shouldn't Derek's 6 deal the last fatal wound to the Howl winning him the game? Or did I miss something?

You can see what I'm talking about at starting around 51:15 in the video below.

Pelegarth howl has
Shield wall. While in b2b with a friendly model for each block result it can cancel 1 other hit result.

That means that the re-roll wasn't even needed. As each block counts twice for pelegarth's. Which is very nice.

Does that handle the situation or an I missing something?

The Howl wasn't in base to base contact with any friendly model, so the Shield Wall ability is irrelevant.

Mr. Black CHEATED!!! ;)

You are correct. It was missed by both Michael and myself, but when filming a report like this, it's a lengthy affair that is rife with constant interruptions, pauses, breaks and random other things that help us to miss simple things and forget to do things.

Thanks Derek! I thought I had missed some special interaction between units that allowed the Howl to live. I understand that filming a 50+ minute game-play video complete with commentary is no small task and that things could easily be overlooked. I appreciate the time you guys took to make the video and it made me MUCH more excited to get my hands on my copy. I hope you guys plan to do others in the future to show off some of the other factions!

Well our travel schedule is already set for the year, and Idaho Falls does not happen to be on the itinerary. :(

You can however come to the CMON Expo and challenge any one of us to a game!

Someday. Someday. But, as you're aware, I work for the government in a non-elected (can't vote myself a raise) position, and have two daughters in college. I'm happy somedays if I can afford gas to drive to Walmart.

So, I just came too after passing out from holding my breath...

Where is said awesome new video?

Also, which factions will be facing off this time?

That would probably be a boring, drawn-out, "beat your shield against this other shield" battle.

Possibly, but not with our group, lol. We're more a, "tricky and bloodthirsty, shields are to be used to carry slain bodies off the field" group.

Goritsi especially doesn't suffer from boring playstyle.

I'd really benefit from seeing how CMoN folks play with them and Hadross, so I know how their playstyle intent is. It'd be a good indicator of 90% of tournament styles.

Im that 10%er type who brings bizarre lists to tournaments and either end up getting crushed in a couple of games and dominate others, landing me in the middle of the pack, or I ROFL-Stomp my way to the finals as nobody had a solution to my list. Regardless, I have fun.
