King Joffrey and the Faith

Now with the up coming releases of Warriors's sons and the Kingsguard I started to look for a list to use for the A Feast for Crows game mode.
Since this is a list that will have good morale I am not afraid of Panic tokens from King Joffrey.
What do you think about it? How can I improve it?

Faction: House Lannister
Commander: The High Sparrow – Father of the Faithful
Points: 40 (4 Neutral)

Combat Units:
• The Warrior's Sons (8)
with Sandor Clegane – The Hound (2)
• The Warrior's Sons (8)
with Assault Veteran (1)
• Lannister Crossbowmen (6)
with Guard Captain (1)
• Lannister Guardsmen (5)
with Guard Captain (1)

Non-Combat Units:
• The High Sparrow – Father of the Faithful (0)
• Joffrey Baratheon - Lord Of The Seven Kingdoms (4)
• Lord Varys – The Spider (4)

Just wanted to point out, technically your crossbowmen and Guardsmen are good against panic tests, not morale tests, they will have a hard time passing morale tests from the sparrow's cards, unless he is specifically on them at the time.

I am not sold on the double units of Sons. They seem quite weak offensively (most of the time). I think the second unit should become a unit of Knights.

They need to get faith tokens to "buff" themselves up, but it should occur in a High Septon list. I am quite curious on how this list would perform. Once the poor fellows will be released, it might be even more viable.

Knights are excellent, but can't be bothered with holding objectives. You might make the argument that no 8pt unit should sit on an objective though. This could work if both units can find a key purpose in te scenario.

I always worry in any game system for a unit that requires passing negative tests to gain value.

You did anticipate my other argument though! I don't think an 8 point unit should be sitting around. Halbs would be better for that.

I would suggest replacing the Hound with Brienne of Tarth. She gives your Sons a 2+ leadership so you'll ALWAYS pass your morale checks. She also gives the unit +1 to hit and +2 dice against one unit you choose during deployment. If you manage to get to them, and use your positive faith buff, that means +2 to hit, +2 dice at -1 save....even The Flayed One cavalry would be scared of charging that....

For those of us who did not back the Kickstarter, Brienne is coming in the next neutral box set which was previewed at the CMON event this weekend.

Nothing stopping you from proxying her to practice a bit. You might end up not liking her and the idea...my gaming community is very much "proxy-heavy during friendlies" because you don't want to end up buying a box to get one NCU only to find out they don't lend well to your playstyle....
