Very nice, great skin tones. Just a bit more steps on the blending (like on the knuckles). Seeing you've just started this very very good painting.

agreed. The skin is nice and smooth and the metal work looks suitably grubby. The age old advice seems to apply though - bring those highlights up! Take them an extra step on the face, tops of the shoulders and knuckles - that should give the model more depth. That aside, its a lovely wee mini, and particularly impressive for someone who hasnt been painting long.

Nice work on the photo, too, btw. Everything is nice and clear and it's easy to evaluate the mini.

Great rust, and good definition on the face with the teeth and stuff, maybe some shading on the backs of his hands where they meet the armwraps leading towards the knuckle highlights :) Top work, cheers

Very nice! Really like the skin tones, nice and smooth. The painting is very neat and tidy, so definately great foundations to build on. I look forward to seeing more

Cheers guys, I have to admit painting hands right is something that I just dont know where to start yet. Obviously the fingers should be lighter but thats as far as ive got so far.

Will definatly look into shading the next lot by the hand wraps as it really does stick out now that I look at it.

solid start and great courage to post too....following advice here is a sure guide to improving quicker than would ever be possible on your own ;0)

looks really good! maybe a bit too dark on the skin but don't mind me it's just personal taste, not advice lol!

by the way, I know this question has probably been made many times before so I'm not opening a new thread just for it... can I use bits from Forgeworld for a GW conversion? I mean obviously I can but is it considered legit when it comes to submitting the picture and stuff? Thanks in advance!

I think it looks great. Only thing to change would be to upgrade the base a bit. Nothing fancy but something to draw the attention.
