thanks for posting this ... very cool

what i found quite interesting was that I actually took the .jpg into my photo program, cut out little hunks of the two squares ... the A square still had some of the white around it, but the B square was just the interior of the square. The A square still looked darker. Finally, I drug the two squares to intersect one another and could then see that they were identical.

This illusion doesn\'t seem so magical I\'ve you\'ve read the chapter on human vision in the excellent book, \"How the Mind Works\" by Stephen Pinker. It\'s one of my all-time favorites. Give it a read!
