I thought he looks fantastic. FWIW, The one thing that stands out (and maybe it's just the lighting?) is that the eyebrow for his left eye looks 'smashed' on the bottom compared to his right eye's eyebrow. Don't know if that is what people are reacting too, but it was the one thing that I noticed.

You can say that again Mike, wouldn't mind so much if people left a comment, saying "...only gave you 7 because....."

yeah I noticed the eyebrow after I posted the pic, that was rectified along with a load of post baking cracks, I forgot to take a pic before it went back to the client, well at least he was happy, and even John Hurt liked it too :D

That's all that really matters! :) Again, I think it's fantastic! I think people are just too used to computer generated smoothness in renders to look at the real thing anymore...

It's your best work so far. Pointers I can see are:
If anything, his face is too smooth. At that size, he could do with even more texture.
That said, there are some bits that look like texture is by mistake
And the left eyebrow seems smudged slightly, and so is a little of the beard
The eye balls also aren't smooth
Also, the chest seems rather flat and should puff out a little more even on someone skinny
Hope you appreciate the crit. It's still brill and you can immediately see who it's meant to be, which is a helluva skill in itself (one I have never managed)

no mate everything is appreciated, the pic is about 3-4 times as big as the actual bust, so some things weren't noticeable till I posted the pics up, unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the completed and primed bust, hoping to get hold of one when they are cast tho
Yeah the eyes where a bit of a pain (should have drilled the old ones out) as I was working over an old bust provided by the client, in hindsight I should have started from scratch, live and learn
there are quite a few things I would do differently but it's all experience
I'm thinking the next one I'd like to do would be a Bobba/Jango bust with head/helmet options, not sure yet tho, that would be my own project tho, not for a client

been a while but here's a small update, had to do some repairs as the bust got damaged in the molding process (not by me)
decided to seperate the head and took the opportunity to rework some areas I wasn't happy with particularly around the eyes, also added some new hair to the back of the head
here's a test cast for the head and after priming
