Got this lovely little bust from skminiatures a couple of days ago, and decided to bring it to the front of the waiting list :)

very nice castings and as you can see from this shot very little clean-up will be needed! i have left off the boom mike and the \"blade\" thats in the holster on her back

i\'m going to show more of the intermediate stages with this WIP so expect to be bombarded with pics :)

been out walking all day ( training for the lyke wake walk at the end of the month ( 42 miles!! )) so only had an hour or so on this bust

Eyes....

whites AVC 006 Light Flesh

disc AVC 169 Black
iris GW 61-32 Regal Blue mixed with AVC 004 Off White
H-light AVC 004 Off White

lower lid AVC 037 Salmon rose with AVC 033 Red
upper lid AVC 148 Burnt Umber

i spent a bit of time looking at this piece and made a couple of decisions....

she is gonna be pale, blue eyed and blonde, i\'m gonna paint her without any makeup on but
i could change my mind on that bit :)

i\'m going to try and paint the clothes and head wear as dark rubber and leather ( goffik innit! )
but again i may change my mind and add colour, but i guess it will be a primary if i do

I\'ll let the pics do the rest, i googled some nice pics of eyes as reference

;)

ok so i spent another hour on her face :)

added the reds then 2nd high, some blending with high 1 to tie it together and re-high light with high 2

i did no steps on this stage as i find it kinda flows from here to finish :)

Several :)
But the ones that come to mind:
GW Foundation Taucept Ochre, Gryphonne Sepia wash,Taucept rehighlight Taucept & Bleached Bone, Bleached Bone, VMC Ivory.
or
VMC Golden Brown, VMC (or Airbrush) Geman Camoflage Black Brown Wash, VMC Yellow Ochre, Yellow Ocre & Ivory, Ivory final highlight Vallejo Airbrush White. YOu could alway wash over with VMC Transparent Yellow (highly Diluted as it\'s very strong)

an update.........

been busy as hell and finally got to sit down today and finish the helmet, goggles and boom mike.

i used only the colours that i used for the helmet as i want them to look related by manufacture.

the image in the goggle reflection is just a tiny painter sillouette with layers of klear and some black over it, still needs a couple more to get it smooth, metal work is just graphite from a hb pencil

update...........

finally back at this after my charity walk.... much pain ;)

i under coated the top with VMC 169 Black.

high1 GW 61-52 Codex Grey
high2 VMC 001 White

shade GW 61-51 Chaos Black

i\'m basically doing a set of highlights and then glazing the black over to soften the transition, then re-highlight and re-glaze in black and repeat and repeat.............. a long way to go yet, probably about 3 more hours should have it sorted :)

still plugging away at this.... :)

the \"rubber\" effect is finished on the top, now working on the corset part and the big sholder strap, the pallette is only colours from the head piece to keep it all tied together ( i hope )

picture ( slightly too blue :( )

finished!

well this is finally finished :)

i had put this to the back of my bench ( but still in reach ) and waited till i was sure i liked the overall look and made my mind up about the shoulder strap and the epaulette? ... i decided to make it look newer and of different material than everything else. i think it works but feel free to comment in the negative if you think it\'s pants :)

i can highly recomend this lovely little bust from JMD and it\'s pretty cheap for the level of detail and production, hmmmm that old guy with the welding mask is quite tempting LOL

pikkys .....

my usual 3 view and a cruely blown up detail shot ;)
