My latest work is Jhureen Hecatha, Satyxis Raider from Privateer Press\' Iron Kingdoms range.

The choice of colors was a bit of an accident. I once saw a miniature using Tanned Skin and Blue Liner for the skin, resulting in a nice blueish grey. Originally I wanted to try something similar but I used Blue Ink instead of the Liner. The result is the greenish-blueish color you can see on her. Not exactly what I had planned but i decided to stick with it and the rest evolved from there. The result is a miniature using a very different pallete compared to what I usually do - I am not entirely sure I like the result but it was definitely an interesting experiment and a good learning experience :)

Please, take a look and decide for yourself: >> Jhureen Hecatha, Satyxis Raider <<

I really want to improve my painting so any comments, tips or critic are appreciated :)

Nice limited palet with great color selection. The painting is top notch and the Metallics look sold and if they are NMM even better. What kills it is the lips, they look rushed and sloppy.
Now where did the base come from? I want one.

Thanks for the comment. While I agree with your assessment of the lips (actually they were a bit rushed and not sure if the vibrant blue was a good color choice...) it probably looks worse than it is because of the picture. Her mouth is actually open and her teeth can easily be mistaken as part of the lips.

For the base I used skulls from a variety of manufacturers (Reaper, freebooter and Tin\'s Bits) as a foundation upon which I placed several pieces of slate as rocks. You should give it a try, it is easy to make.

Very nice overall, especially the palette choices. The lips appear to have been smeared a bit to the lower left (right in the pic) though... it\'s hard to tell if my assessment is accurate though. The base is nice as well.

Are the scratches on the gun case painted on or molded in? I agree with funnymouth... they look rather large and a bit too regular.

I really like the face, but it does look like someones given her a split lip, still, for me blue lips was a good choice.
Good colours, and the shoulder armour looks great.
