Is This Cool.... Or Just Very Cool

I just looked at this after recieving the Forgeworld newsletter and i think it is awesome and might finally get me into Tyrannids. This is my favourite of the Forgeworld nids so far, I realy like the sculpting of the toxin sacs and the whole thing just looks downright evil.

It appears....

This summer there is rumored to be some campaign book by FW detailing some space marine & black templar war with tyranids or something like that. The new FW stuff, the space base, tyranid stuff is all based for that setting...

Don\'t you mean winter? ;)

Aw, it\'s not bad. I like the toxin sac touches, and especially the trapped humans in the sacks towards the rear. Pretty cool. But if there\'s one thing that irritates me, is that it looks like a tortoise with the head coming out of the body the way it does. The sinews and fibres all end abruptly on the sharp edge of the shell. Incomplete somehow.

Same here.
It looks like it needs wings. Maybe if it was lower down on the tail like the other one it would be ok.
The tentacle mouth doesnt wotk with the bone carapace either. I would much prefer the gut sacks and tentacles on a nice fat squidgy body.

I LOVE THIS MODEL!!!!!!!

It doesn\'t have wings (thank God).

The sacs are explanitory.remember, biovores are sacs of gas. That is what helps them to float. I love it.

it is quite nice, the problem I see is that I HATE those clear plastic sticks to hold the model up, they drive me crazy

Sorry Nitpick. :p I meant the biovore spore mines. They are gas sacs.

The new Tyranis model reminds me of the big aliens in Starcraft. Are they called Overlords?

Just been looking at this in the last couple of minutes. I reckon you could quite easily get away without having the rather intrusive plastic rod. I guess its there to stop th thin resin of the \'tail\' snapping under the whale. A nice long drill bit and a piece of brass rod / paper clip should solve that problem well enough
