Is it just me?

Is it just me, or has there been a rash of really bad minis posted lately? Not just poorly painted, but rotten photos and images where the mini is even smaller that IRL. There must\'ve been 20 pics of entire armies where it was impossible to make out a single detail. I\'ve given out more sub-5 votes over the past few days than in the past 2 years. What gives?

Well, you can always leave a comment and tell that that posting a gazillion pics of their display case is a bad idea.... maybe along with a score of 3 or 4 it should get the message through.....

God point Inge but its not just the display cases person.

If I left a comment like this for the ones I have seen over the last week (currently 4000 postings) I would never get to see a lot osf the good work that is here.

I think what we\'re seeing is a lot of new members ... the inevitable consequence of which is crap photos.
It is kind of a thrill though the first time to submit something- so the rush to \"get on\" is intense. Once people hang around and participate a bit then they\'ll improve their pics or drop out .... that\'s my guess anyway

Don\'t forget, because a comment is criical, that doesn\'t mean it is bad.
CMoN is a pretty good resource, if someone only merits a 4, give it, but tell them why (\"You can\'t drybrush to save yourself\".) and then suggest an article that can help them.
I know I appreciate it when I get that kind of constructive criticism.

Might simply be because people have received models and cameras for the holidays and are very excited to post things. Try not to be too hard, I\'m sure you were a n00b once. It\'s a good chance to take a few minutes and help guide someone in painting better and taking better pictures, which just helps enhance our hobby (as well as earn you a few good karma points)

The main thing that Ive noticed is that when I first started posting minis here I was at 5(roughly) this grew to 7. I take this as my painting skill getting better which I know it has.Now lately my scores have dropped to 6.I know my painting isnt worse(I get comments from jenova and zaphod giving 7-8) so Im putting it down to noob voting getting it to 50 votes before the big boys get a chance with their more realistic votes.Saying that Im sure there are trends at certain times.Its getting to the point where I have to pm guys to get a decent comment on my minis,which I cant help but think it might annoy some of you.
Anyway thanks to any one who does take the time to give comments.
BTW I do think there are a lot of new members with bad pics,,Im sure most of our first pics werent great.I like to vote on what I can see but sometimes I think we have to use a bit of guesswork.As the site gets more popular this will get more often I fear.I did read here that really bad posts are gona get refused though so things will maybe pick up on that front.

Has anyone ever posted an article about taking pics of greens? Few agreed with me that it was not easy to dr maybe it is just an excuse I am looking for to justify the poor quality of mine?
