Thin your paint more. Several thin coats will look better than 1 thick one.

I like the colors you've chosen, and the black looks nice and smooth.

Thanks supervike! That's probably the best advice I've ever gotten regarding painting. I was looking through the gallery wondering how everyone got their paint jobs so smooth.

It's moments like this when I wish I could just start over...

The Red blending looks really good. Just like Supervike said, thin the paints more - it make take a coat or two of thinner paint but your will have a smoother look and a bit more control on your paints.

Glad you've picked up on Supervikes post. Thinning paints made the world of difference to my painting.

A good ratio for basecoating is 3:1 water to paint although lots of people go thicker or thinner than this. personal preference really.

With regards your painting its quite neat and the colours look good. The rest will come in time so gett them paints thinned and get throwing it about!

I like the smoke. As vike said, thinner is definitely better. I used to paint straight from the pot. Now I hesitate to, even for basecoating. And you can start over. It's called Pine Sol ;)
