what do you think the recipe for the battle damage like this is? it looks like dark brown/black sponged on and then outlined with white?

nah, i would not expect free tutorials/recipes and it doesnt seem like he replies to anyone commenting on the work so...

One thing for sure is that them that don't ask, don't get. PM him. You have nothing to lose. Worst thing is he doesn't respond and your out about 1 minute of your time (depending on your typing speed) to ask him how he did the damage and what blue he used.

Sorry No the blues aren't heading topwards the green side of the spectrum. That looks like an Andrea White (VMC) and white combination.

Looks like that's about it.

I think the sponging is in a dark grey (but it could be black, which some subsequent weathering has lightened). And the chipping might not be outlined in straight white, that often looks too harsh, could be a light mix of the base colour instead.

Try some tests, see what you think yourself.
