Improving my NMM

Hello boys, girls and others. I have been busy trying to improve my nmm and trying to get my blending alot smoother so i managed to these models. I was hoping if i can get some constructive criticism and comments on where i can improve on my technique. Oh and before those comments i apologise for my lack of camera skills, i need more lights in my room.

Overall im really happy with how it looks, the nmm is much better than my 1kson on this model, and the transitions i feel look much better. Anyway i\'ll let you all have a look and judge the model for me, maybe there are a few things i\'ll go back and touch up but for now i need rest. !

errrm well when i first looked at it i thought you\'d painted it with metalics (i really did), so i dont think it needs much improving.

I\'m sure the nnmjunkies can throw you some more useful tips than i can, but looks very good already.

Hey, fellow NMM learner here myself :)

IMO, I think the gold is in need of more work than the silver. For me, the trims of the shoulder pads seem to lack the shading of the helmet piece and weapon. The same contrast is not there. Take a look at this article to see how you could improve the trims and skull detail (Look at \"NMM gold trims\" in post 11):

The next big thing for me is the back of the helmet piece. The blends don\'t appear to be as smooth as the other pieces and I think the highlights and shading are kind of muddled. For me, the shading is much too deep, and much too prominent. I think there\'s too much black running up to the horizon line (which oddly doesn\'t feature in the rest of the NMM), and the shading above appears mildly crooked. I use this pic all of the time for NMM:

Notice how the horns of Razza\'s model is assymmetrical. Even with a gap, a dark area is placed next to a light area. This gives the illusion of reflection. Also notice how the areas are lined, both on Harry and Magmatrax (in fact magmatrax is lined with it\'s brightest colour on areas that face upwards, as if the light is above, whilst Daz\'s miniature is all edged.)

Like I said, I\'m learning NMM too and I\'m not amazing at it, but I hope this helps regardless. Great attempt and nice work.
