I never want to work on miniatures more...

It seems my biggest urge to work on miniatures comes at about 11 am, on any random Workday.

Weekends come up and I have no urge...

What the hell is that all about?

Yup. At work, think about painting and other hobbies. At home, really struggle to be interested.

Wish I could reverse the two. Motivation at work AND play! What a concept!

Well I'm usually very tired when I finally get home. Now I paint once a week at the local gaming club, seems easier to get away and to have one evening put aside for painting every week.

Yeah, I have the same issue. I've found that just sitting down and doing the no-brain stuff helps in the evening. Cleaning off mould lines, basing, that kind of thing. It at least keeps you ticking over until the fugue passes.

I thought I was the only one. Unfortunately I usually get the itch at around midnight or so. I was always a night owl back in the day, but now I can't really do that unless I want to show up as a zombie to work.

Heh. Funny story: Tossed, turned and couldn't sleep for an hour or so before getting out of bed at 3AM this last summer because of a casting task that I had running around in my mind. So had to get up and scratch that itch. Finally went back to bed around 5AM. That made for a weird day.

I went through this last year. Ive havent got a dedicated space to paint so it was always a task to get everything out to start. So in the week I had motivation probs. Then over xmas i built a homemade paint station thingy.
Real easy to get out and start, so ive found im doing more painting now :)

I find similar, but tend to start on something around about 10pm (when I should be thinking about heading towards bed) a bit of telly on in the background and thinking "it's OK, I'm not that tired". A few hours later I stop, realise I'm absolutely shattered and it dawns on me that I won't get enough hours sleep...

I'm actually a man!
I get this quite a lot, especially if its a paperwork day, but i found a routine helps, get home, cook my dinner, tidy up, by then 5 USA usually has on CSI so i can bang it on and ignore it completely while i paint for a couple of hours.

Its the only way i can get any painitng done, because if i sit infront of PS3 or comfy sofa i cant get the mojo to paint.

Also the motivation to reduce the plastic mountain nags after a while.

Oh, I've definitely been there before. Some times you have ideas or something you want to do and you're in the zone, even though you're already snug in bed. I've seriously contemplated moving across the world to sync my hours of musing with daylight. On the other hand though, I may just be a procrastinator. Who knows, maybe a vacation is in order to test it out, for 'science'.
